MATERA FILM FESTIVAL
Founded in 2019, it celebrates its 5th edition in 2024.
The Matera Film Festival is the link between the city and cinema, between the past and future identity.
A festival which, since the first edition, has been characterized by transmediality and attention to new languages that also belong to the world of cinema, such as: music, comics, literature and gaming, cartoons and new technologies, the AI.
Since the first edition, around three hundred works from the national and international cinematographic scene have been presented, retrospectives, previews, tributes to great authors, recently produced works, unpublished works by emerging authors, masterpieces of the history of cinema, exhibitions, installations, screenings and activities for schools, concerts, animated films, workshops, masterclasses, meetings with authors and much more.
An opportunity for meeting and knowledge, for in-depth analysis and research, for leisure and entertainment, which involves thousands of spectators, sector professionals and stakeholders.
The short documentary
“The double life of Kore” (La doppia vita di Kore) by Maria Antonietta Mariani, its a short documentary: Gaia, Nina, Teresa and Virginia are artists of the cultural scene of Rome. Signs, objects and relationships animate the creative process and the works. The interweaving of emotions and experiences of the protagonists returns a story poised between realism and magical thinking.
