After the fantastic Hollywood experience at the famous Screamfest Horror Film Festival, “STAY” by Luca Canali is in the official selection of another prestigious festival, the 34th Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival, Hokkaido island, Japan.

It will be the Japanese Premiere of the short film.

Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival

Yubari Fanta is held in Yubari, Hokkaido Japan and is organized and run by the Executive Committee of the Yubari International Fantasy Film Festival. From 1990, it will be the 34th edition of the festival. Yubari Fanta is aimed at fantasy films that are rich in imagination and entertainment such as science fiction, horror, fantasy adventure, action and thriller.

In 1993, Quentin Tarantino was at the festival and wrote part of the script for Pulp Fiction in his hotel room. Some years later, he paid homage to festival with the name of a character from Kill bill vol. 1, “Gogo Yubari”.

The short film

“STAY” was born with the intention of addressing the most severe of mental symptoms, the second leading cause of death among young people, which paradoxically is spoken about very little: self-injury and suicide.

“Just graduated, Laura works as an usher in her mother’s theatre. The razor blade is her only companion. As she faces her dreaded control round; she discovers that she is not as alone as she thought.”
